Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
Cartwheel (usecartwheel.com) is operated by Jerrod Jeffries, doing business as Cartwheel, in Nashville, Tennessee ("Cartwheel", "we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Cartwheel to plan and order groceries for a group trip, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Delivery details: your delivery address, delivery window and any delivery notes.
- Trip details: party size, length of stay and check in time.
- Preferences: allergies and dietary needs, brand preferences and the style of trip you pick.
- Contact details: your email address and, if you provide it, your name and mobile number, so we can confirm and update you about your order.
- Your cart: the items you keep, add or remove.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security and to keep the service running.
We do not ask for or store your grocery store login, password or payment card number.
How we use it
- To build a ready made cart that fits your group, your stay and your preferences.
- To find the nearest participating store for your address.
- To place your order and arrange delivery.
- To contact you about your order, including confirmations and substitutions.
- To prevent fraud, verify that alcohol orders are lawful, and comply with legal obligations.
How Kroger is involved
Cartwheel uses the Kroger Developer APIs to look up nearby stores, search products and prices, and add the items in your cart to the Cartwheel operator's own Kroger account, from which the order is checked out and delivered. To do this we share product selections and the delivery address and window with Kroger. You never sign in to Kroger through Cartwheel, and we never access any Kroger account but our own. Kroger handles the information it receives under its own privacy policy at kroger.com.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with:
- Kroger and its delivery partners, to fulfill your order.
- Service providers that host and run Cartwheel (such as Cloudflare for hosting and email, and Stripe for payments), under contracts that limit their use of it.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.
Payments
When a payment is required, it is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
How long we keep it
Order details, including your address, contact details, allergies and cart, are deleted automatically 7 days after the delivery date. Preferences used only to build a cart that you do not order are not kept after your session. Limited records may be kept longer where the law requires it, for example payment records.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and stored with access limited to the operator. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and keep only what we need.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@usecartwheel.com. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we honor those requests.
Children
Cartwheel is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and alcohol orders are limited to adults 21 and older.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, note it on the site.
